Sacred Heart of Jesus Basketball Camp is a 20 year tradition that continues to be one of the top basketball camps in the Denver-metro area.  Long before the Positive Coaching Alliance came to be, or the John Wooden approach to coaching was analyzed for the thousandth time, Sacred Heart of Jesus Basketball Camps were teaching youth basketball players the very same thing these two programs focus on - Mastery of the Game.  At Sacred Heart we have always known that learning, developing, and mastering the fundamental skills of the game of basketball is what creates progress and success.  And that it is progress and success, no matter what the skill level, that fosters an inherent love and appreciation of the game.

Our camp is about learning how to play basketball, every aspect from ball-handling, to footwork, to shooting, to defensive positioning, and more.  We teach the things that apply to EVERY basketball player no matter the age, no matter the skill level, no matter the level of play. We are serious about our basketball, but, when you are doing something you love, you have fun doing it, and fun is a major part of every Sacred Heart Basketball Camp.  Our coaches have a combined 80+ years of YOUTH coaching experience, so we know how to teach the game to young players and have fun at the same time.  Whether it is the friendly competitions, the 3-on-3 challenge, or the satisfaction of mastering a new move or drill, your player will come home tired and smiling each night.

That's our goal for each and every one of our campers - work hard, master the game, and have fun doing it.  For us, we can't think of a better way to share our love of the game.

OUR COACHES - Nick Bovine, head coach
Because of our deep basketball roots and history in the community, Sacred Heart is able to bring together a camp staff that goes far beyond what you would normally expect from a small private school.  Our coaches all have a proven track record of success both as players and as coaches, and each one participates in our camps as an unpaid volunteer, with the sole focus of teaching young players this great game.  Our coaches have coached at various levels but all share a common skill.  They know how to teach young kids the game of basketball.  It is one thing to have been a great player, yet another to have played and be able to coach players, but it is an entirely different skill set that allows former players to bring their knowledge, fire, and passion for the game, and share that with players from 1st through 8th grade in a fun, positive, and informative way.  That is exactly the skill that every Sacred Heart coach brings to our camps.
